In 1943, former Michigan Governor Chase S. Osborn gifted the entire 810-acre property, which he knew as Jasmine Springs, to the Chehaw Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Originally approached about providing only a small cottage and access to Blue Springs, Governor Osborn instead chose to donate the entire tract of land.
The property began serving as a Scout camp that same summer and was formally dedicated as Camp Chase S. Osborn in January 1950. For generations, the camp has provided a place for young people to experience the outdoors while developing character, leadership, and stewardship.
Today, that legacy provides a fitting backdrop for a new Worth County tradition as Camp Osborn welcomes the Worth County Classic Rodeo.
